PASTOR’S CORNER FEB. 5, 2011
FYI: We have over 50 ministries in the parish supported by over 300 volunteers. This is the most I have ever experienced in one parish and it is invigorating and exciting to be part of this experience of community. You are to be congratulated for your “YES” to God and His people.
On the weekend of March 12-13 we will sponsoring a “Ministry Fair” so that the whole parish can learn more about these ministries. In volunteering to be more deeply involved in these ministries we fulfill Jesus’ command to love one another and live the Beatitudes which we have been hearing about for the past few weeks.
Also during the weeks leading up to the “Fair” we will be spotlighting a few of the ministries at Mass. You will hear a 2 minute explanation of some of the ministries and meet some of those involved in their work. I thank you in advance for your support and your love for our parish.
Here’s some puns to lighten your day:
To write with a broken pencil is pointless.
When fish are in schools they sometimes take debate.
A thief who stole a calendar got twelve months.
When the smog lifts in Los Angels, U.C.L.A.
The professor discovered that her theory of earthquakes was on shaky ground.
The batteries were given our free of charge.
A will is a dead give away.
A boiled egg is hard to beat.
Enough already, have a blessed day.
