PASTOR’S CORNER – August 24, 2011

Published August 24, 2011 by Our Lady of the Angels in Pastor's Corner

One of the things I forgot to put on our “to come to” list was the “Back to School” ice cream social sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
This gala will follow the Peace Mass on Wednesday, Sept 7th. Come to Mass and then come and have some ice cream!!!

We will begin a new RCIA (rite of Christian Initiation) class on Sept 27th. If you have not received all of your sacraments or would like information about becoming a Catholic please call the Parish Office.

Some of the parishioners have told me that they are getting calls from competitors of Veridian. While these competitors sometimes offer a
slightly greater discount remember that Veridian sends the parish two dollars a month for each person in the parish that is using their services. The others don’t! This adds up to over $10,000 a year for the parish. If you are using Veridian please maintain it. Thanks.

Our Parish Bulletin is undergoing a complete make-over. In the not too distant future you will see significant improvement in its outlook
and readability. Meanwhile please, please, please read the whole bulletin and check out more information on the parish web site or facebook.

Thank you for your generosity in the Mission Coop Collection last weekend. We collected $2230 for the Vincentian order to continue their
work of helping people to know who Jesus is.

I like to read the signs on Churches as I drive around, here are a few I saw recently:

You are not too bad to come in and you are not too good to stay out.

Try Jesus, if you don’t like Him, the devil will always take you back.

Honk if you love Jesus, text while driving if you want to meet Him.
