New Business
Regional planning ideas for the Gather God’s Gift planning process were discussed by those in attendance.Church data, population and building facilities were evaluated and categorized in relationship to the other parishes in our Region (St. Casimir in Woodbine and Resurrection in Marmora). We discussed how to move forward. The planning process assumes that in ten years there will be half as many priests as there are today in the Dioceses, Deaneryand Region.Further planning discussions at the Regional level are set for Wednesday, February 28th with OLA, St. Casmir’s and Resurrection parishes.
Adjournment and Closing Prayer
The meeting was informal. The inclement weather resulted in many council members and committee leader not attending the meeting and caused frequent loss of electricity. It was agreed to bring the meeting to a close early at 8:10PM.The next Pastoral Council meeting is set for Tuesday, March 20th in St. Gabriel’s Hall at 7:00PM.

Meeting Minutes
Minutes of the last meeting held on November 21, 2006 were approved by all following Ed Dillio’s motion and seconded by Violet Rixey. No meeting was held in December.
Committee Reports
The birthday chain was discussed. Although parishioners enjoy being wished happy birthday, those whose vital information is not complete in the computer system feel neglected, because we do not know when there birthday is. That is, of course, not the intention. Continuing work to update the parishioner database is reducing the number of parishioners whose information does not include a birth date. A big thank you is sent to the birthday chain volunteers.
Brainstorming our fundraising alternatives produced two ideas that the committee felt were lucrative enough to pursue. A raffle ticket fundraiser with a commission paid to the seller of the winning ticket was one idea and another idea was Football Mania through www.charitymania.com. A vote will be taken at the next meeting when additional information is available. “Where is the appropriate place to conduct fundraising business?” was discussed but it appears our options are limited.
New Business
Gathering God’s Gifts: This planning effort is of the utmost importance at this time and deadlines are closing in on our parish. Additional parish facility survey information has been received from the Diocese. We need to incorporate this data into the parish facility data received at the January 6 diocesan workshop. OLA is part of Deanery 9/Region 18. Region 18, consists of St. Casimir/Woodbine, OLA/CMCH, St. Joseph’s/SIC, Stella Maris/Avalon and St. Paul’s/Stone Harbor. Our Lady of the Angels is paired with St. Casmir’s for the Gathering God’s Gifts planning effort at the Region level. St. Casimir consists of about 600 families. Planning properly should take on a broad approach and include the scope of a twenty year projection and/or ramifications. Father John would like to deepen awareness of our growth. Father John will obtain demographic information from the county.
The Gather God’s Gifts planning effort will occur in three stages: parish level, regional level and deanery level. The parish level stage has begun. The regional stage begins February 28 with a meeting between OLA and St. Casimir. The Deanery level stage begins at Easter.
The primary topic of discussion at the next pastoral council meeting will be parish level planning for Gathering God’s Gifts. The pastoral council meeting was moved from Tuesday, February 20 to Tuesday February 13 because there will be a Mardi Gras celebration in St. Gabriel Hall on February 20.
Projected Deficit: The Finance Council estimates a $9,000 deficit is likely this year. The debt remaining from building Bishop Mc Hugh Regional Catholic School and renovating St. Gabriel Hall ($561,000) is now incurring interest of $20,000 per year. The Annual Capital Campaign may or may not provide the funding needed to retire this debt. Father John asked the Council to consider a remedy for this situation.
After discussion, Arthur Cornell made a motion seconded by Joe Daniszewski that there be a second collection on the 3rd Sunday of every month to reduce the principle and interest on this debt. The motion was approved. It was further decided to start this 2nd collection in February and explain the purpose of the collecting on the 1st and 2nd Sunday of February. Father Antony suggested the Finance Council promote and explain the need to support the parish.
Altar Servers: Joe Daniszewski voiced his concern regarding the need to schedule altar servers. Father Steve will soon be actively seeking new altar server recruits beginning with 3rd graders. He will solicit Greg Arnold and Vince Di Mauro assistant. A suggestion was made to incorporate “family servers”.
Open Discussion
March for Life: Ed Dillio announced that the one bus per county will travel to the Right to Life March held in Washington DC on Monday, January 22nd. The cost of the bus is somewhere between $1,100 and $1,300. Mr. Dillio asked Mary Joan to place it in the church bulletin as the deadline for submission was the next day by noon.
Adjournment and Closing Prayer
Marie Macatee motioned with a second from Art Cornell that we adjourn the meeting, which we did at 8:25 p.m.

Bill Thomas discussed bids received from Peterson Services and Rich Services regarding servicing the heating and air conditioning systems at the various church properties. Rich Services did not submit its bid in the form requested by Bill. A motion was made by Violet Rixey and seconded by Marie Macatee to approve the bid submitted by Peterson Services. requirement by a credit from the parish effort.
G. New Business:
·Selecting a new Vice-President - Steve Atzert

accepted; Ed Dillio seconded; there were no objections.Father John mentioned that Council would

years.A suggestion is to pursue
consecutive terms of 1 year each for Secretary, Vice-President and
President.This will be discussed at
next month’s meeting.
·Oversight of Parish Function Areas - It was agreed
that Pastoral Council members be assigned (or volunteer) to “oversee” each of
the main function areas covering several ministries. The responsibility could be shared by two

would be for these council members to solicit reports from each ministry leader
in advance of Pastoral Council meetings to minimize the time spent during
meetings on these matters.Steve Atzert
offered to draft guidelines on this effort.

further notice.

Our Lady of the Angels
Parish Council Meeting
November 16, 2004
Present: Fr. Lyons, Fr. Anthony, John Sowa, Marcia Sowa, Steve Atzert, Mary Ann Alulis, Gregg Arnold, Joe Daniszewski, Ed Dillio, Missy DiMauro, Bob Dooley, Bill Thomas, George Wade
The meeting began promptly at 7:00 with an opening prayer led by the President, John Sowa.
John asked if there were any amendments to the minutes from the October meeting. There being none, a motion was made to approve the October minutes by Bob Dooley and seconded by Steve Atzert.
In correspondence, Secretary, Marcia Sowa, read a letter she had received from Fr. Walter in which he sends his regards to everyone along with his continued prayers for our parish. His address was made available to anyone who wished to have it.
Information items: John Sowa informed Council of the passing of Mary Joan Piechocki’s mother. A Mass card from the Council will be given to Mary Joan. John also informed Council of his attendance at the township meeting regarding the possible closure of Mechanic St. from the parkway. He said he had spoken at the meeting about the traffic problems such a closure would cause. A resolution had already been adopted to keep the entrance/exit accessible. In an update on our new Pastor’s arrival, Fr. Lyons said he has spoken with Fr. O’Leary and it seems that the date of arrival has been pushed back to January 17, 2005 as per Msgr. Morgan’s wish that changes not be made until that date. John said he would write a letter to the diocese asking that Fr. O’Leary’s assignment be expedited.
Items pending: John Sowa said that the Public Relations vacancy is still open and, though not an immediate problem, when advertising of events at the parish become necessary, this vacancy will need filling. He asked Council to keep this vacancy in mind and come back to him with recommendations. John mentioned the Thanksgiving Eve Ecumenical Service to be hosted by OLA again this year with representation from the various local parishes. Music would be arranged by Jim Maher. Council members discussed a Parish Council/Finance Council Christmas Party in lieu of the December meeting of the Parish Council. Fr. Lyons said he would happy to host a party as Msgr. McIntyre had hosted one last year. After a short discussion, it was decided that the party would be on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 6:30 P.M. with finger foods and spirits available rather than a sit-down buffet dinner. It was agreed that Fr. O’Leary would be notified of the party and, hopefully, would attend. John discussed with members the importance of developing a Ministry Directory with all parishioners listed who are part of the ministries in the parish along with their addresses, phone numbers and e-mails. He would like to see the heads of all the ministries contacted to facilitate this endeavor.
Committee Reports
Stewardship: Joe Daniszewski said that there was nothing new to report. He said that anyone who had signed up for a ministry at the Ministry Fair had been contacted. He also said that all Chairpersons are ad hoc members of the Stewardship Committee. Pictures from the Ministry Fair held in October and on display in the Gathering Room of the Church would be coming down shortly. Time and Talent brochures would continue to be inserted in the bulletin until the supply is exhausted. Bob Dooley said that it would be good to list all of the ministries in the church and insert such a list in the bulletin, perhaps monthly. It was agreed that this was a good idea.
Evangelization and Education: Mary Joan was not present in light of her mother’s passing. See attached report from Julie Roche, Bishop McHugh liaison. John Sowa mentioned the All Saint’s Day Children’s Liturgy with the children dressed up as Saints and singing in the choir. It was a beautiful liturgy. Thank you, Mary Joan, for all your work with the children. A special thanks also goes out to Marie Macatee.
Pro-Life: Ed Dillio said he was unable to attend the Legislative Evening in Williamstown. But Bob Dooley said that he and Michelle had gone. Bob said that 500 plus people attended the evening at St. Mary’s and that of the twenty-eight legislators, only eight were in attendance. He said that many pertinent issues were discussed. In Right to Life news, Ed Dillio mentioned the “disturbing comments” by newly elected Sen. Arlen Specter regarding the nomination of Supreme Court judges. See attached reports.
Marriage Ministry: Bob Dooley said that there had been a training meeting for Pre-Cana couples and that one couple from OLA would be part of the Pre-Cana team now.
Liturgy and Sacramental Life: Lengthy discussion took place on the implementation of the reception of the Eucharist under both species at all Masses beginning the first Sunday in Advent. Marcia Sowa suggested, that with personnel stretched to the limit, perhaps seven ministers at each of the Masses was unreasonable at this time. Ed Dillio said that perhaps there should be only two ministers with the Precious Blood since only one out of six people receive the Blood. John Sowa said that he assumes Mary Joan has the logistics for reception of the Eucharistic under both species figured out, and along with notifiying the congregation of the procedure for reception, the first Sunday in Advent was the date set for implementation. New schedules for Extraordinary Ministers and Lectors (there will now be two for the readings) were in the works and would be forthcoming.
Altar Servers: Gregg Arnold had some concerns about new servers and would see that the older servers provide assistance. Fr. Lyons said he would like to see two, three and possible four people involved in the coordination of the various schedules for Mass ministries.
Children’s Liturgy: The next Children’s Mass is scheduled for the first Sunday in Advent.
Music Ministry: Jim Maher was not present. John Sowa mentioned the two new singers at the 8:00 A.M. Mass.
Art and Environment: no representation present Greeters: no representation present
Pastoral Life and Community Building: Social Committee: Missy DiMauro reported that OLA will again participate in Christmas in Court House and will be on the trolley stop. There will be refreshments and acitivities, including the gingerbread making, in St. Gabriele’s Hall, along with tours of the Church. Volunteers will be needed. Missy indicated that she is awaiting word as far as a welcome reception for our new Pastor. We all are!
Knights of Columbus: George Wade said that the Knight’s breakfast scheduled for December 19, 2004 will feature, none other, than Santa. Pictures will again be available. See attached report.
Social Justice: Mary Ann Alulis. See attached report.
Bereavement: no representation present Administration/Facilities: Bill Thomas. See attached report.
Old Business: Five Year Plan: John Sowa said that the plans are in place for each of the committees, and they reflect what is important and will be accomplished by each committee. Once again, we await Fr. O’Leary’s coming on board.
New Business: John mentioned the appointing of an ad hoc committee to begin implementing plans for a 50th anniversary celebration of the parish in May, 2006. Further discussion will take place at the January meeting. Parish elections are due to take place in April for the election of a new President, Secretary and six new members of the Parish Council. A nominating committee will need to be formed. Further discussion will take place at the January meeting.
There being no further business, a motion was made to adjourn at 8:30 P.M. by Joe Daniszewski and seconded by Mary Ann Alulis.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be January 18, 2005 at 7:00 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Marcia Sowa

Minutes of
Our Lady of the Angels Parish Council
October 19, 2004
Present: Fr. Lyons, Fr. Anthony, Marcia and John Sowa, Steve Atzert, Mary Ann Alulis, Gregg Arnold, Joe Daniszewski, Missy DiMauro, Bob Dooley, Mary Joan Piechocki, Bill Thomas
Meeting began promptly at 7:00 with an opening prayer led by Fr. Lyons. John Sowa asked if there were any amendments to the minutes of the Sept. meeting. Missy DiMauro said that she was left off the minutes as being present. A motion was made to amend the minutes. Minutes for the Sept. 21, 2004 meeting were then approved by Steve Atzert and seconded by Bob Dooley.
John Sowa offered a sincere welcome to Bill Thomas who has accepted to head the Administration and Facilities Committee, replacing the late Jim Killian. Bill said he could never fill the shoes of Jim Killian, but would do his best. John gave a special thanks to Missy DiMauro who has re-considered and decided to stay on as Social Committee chairperson. Correspondence was tabled to the November meeting.
Pastoral Update: Fr. Ed said that Fr. O’Leary had stopped by the rectory a week ago and is ready to return but is waiting for word on the Atco parish pastor. He should be arriving for his new assignment at OLA sometime just before Thanksgiving. John Sowa said that the diocesan Personnel Committee is meeting with Fr. O’Leary’s Parish Council much the same way they had met with us after the sudden and untimely death of our late, beloved Pastor, Msgr. McIntyre.
Items Pending: A) Legislative Evening – John Sowa said that there are five or six people from OLA who will be attending the evening in Williamstown on Nov. 9, 2004 and that it is hoped that a few more will attend. B) Memorial Library and Resource Center – Mary Joan Piechocki told Council members that a Resource Center and Library are in the planning stages to be filled with, among other things, CD’s, spiritual publishings, videos, etc. to be made available to the CCD teachers and the parish community. It will also house a Children’s Corner. It is hoped that donations will help fill the shelves. This Library and Resource Center would be dedicated to the memory of Msgr. McIntyre and Irene Cohen. C) John Sowa informed Council members of the resignation of Ann DeMuth as chairperson of Public Relations and said that we are in need of someone to fill this position. John said that although the position is not a continuous job, someone is, nevertheless, needed to be in charge of publicity for parish events. D) Giving Tree Coordinator – Mary Ann Alulis is no longer able to fill this worthwhile effort. It was suggested that, perhaps, our St. Vincent de Paul Society might want to take it over.
Committee Reports:
A) Stewardship – Joe Daniszewski said that the Ministry Fair, which was held on the weekend of October 16 and 17 went well. He said that it was not as well attended as last year. He thanked those who had given testimony at the Masses that weekend. He said that the final weekend is this coming one and tri-fold brochures would be available for anyone wishing to make a commitment of their time and talent to OLA. He said that an insert would be in the bulletins explaining the guidelines for tithing to coincide with the theme of Treasure. He said that the inserts could be taken home and kept as a reminder for tithing and the importance of once a year taking time to consider how we support our church. (see attachment)
B) Evangelization and Education – Mary Joan Piechocki highlighted the important points of her report. (see attachment). She said that Fr. Chris Bakey had been the keynote speaker at the First Penance meeting and Fr. Ted Cassidy was the speaker for the Confirmation meeting.
C) Marriage Ministry – Bob Dooley said that the Ministry is in desperate need of help with Pre-Cana. Fr. Ed said that several couples come to mind and that Bob should stop by the rectory for names and addresses. Bob said that we really need the Pastors to say something about this need.
D) Pro Life – No Report
E) Liturgy and Sacramental Life 1) Extraordinary Ministers and Readers – John Sowa said that we have six new people who will be attending training for E.M. It is hoped that in the spring classes will be held in Wildwood at St. Ann’s. Fr. Anthony said he is not aware who is taking the Eucharist to the nursing homes and asked who coordinates this ministry. Ron Jost is the coordinator for Eucharist to the homebound. John Sowa would like Fr. Anthony to be made aware of those bringing Communion to the nursing homes and coordinate their schedule. It was suggested by Bob Dooley that Bill Baxter is probably the person to contact. 2) Altar Servers – Gregg Arnold said that there was a meeting for all servers, both old and new, a few weeks ago. Mary Joan said that only servers who attended the meeting were on the schedule through November. She said that changes in the liturgical format include the servers as well as the other ministers and is asking that the altar servers who couldn’t attend the meeting come to her for training. A schedule through January would come out the first Sunday of Advent. 3) Children’s Liturgy – scheduled for Monday, Nov. 1 at the 7:00 P.M. Mass. Children will choose a Saint and dress accordingly for the Mass. 4) Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service – Fr. Ed said that the Service will take place, as in previous years here at OLA and that the Rev. John Koch is coordinating this year’s Service. He will be contacting Jim Maher. Neighboring clergy will be in attendance for this “wonderful, ecumenical, cohesive Service.” 5) Music – A Chairperson was not present. Fr. Anthony said that we are in need of someone to coordinate a choir. John Sowa said that the choir, under Jim Maher’s direction, is practicing for the Christmas liturgy. Fr. Anthony would like to see more of the choir at the Masses. Fr. Ed said that Jim Maher is very conscious of the role he seemed to have under Monsignor McIntyre, but that with Monsignor’s death, things seem to be in suspension. It is expected that Fr. O’Leary will meet with the Music Ministry. Joe Daniszewski said that since Jim is paid for performance but not planning, coordination needs to be addressed. John Beitel has been singing at the early Mass on Sunday and will also need to be consulted. 6) Art and Environment – No Report 7) Greeters – No Report
F) Pastoral Care and Service 1) Bereavement – It was mentioned that Doris Bishop and Ginny Collins are coordinating plans for a Mass on Nov. 4 at 7:00 P.M. for anyone who has lost a loved one this past year. 2) Social Action and Justice – Mary Ann Alulis said that a presentation on Alternatives to the Death Penalty would take place on Sunday, November 7th from 7 to 9 P.M. Another presentation on Organ Donation will take place the weekend of Nov. 13th and 14th. She asked if OLA could be one of the participating parishes. A table might be made available for questions and answers as to who is eligible for organ donations.
G) Pastoral Life and Community Building – Missy Di Mauro said that OLA will once again be a trolley stop for Christmas in Court House. She will await word on a “welcome reception” for Fr. O’Leary.
Knight of Columbus – No Report
New Business – Gregg Arnold said that he talked with numerous people who have an aversion to receiving under both species, namely, the Precious Blood, for “sanitary” reasons. John Sowa said that it was Monsignor’s wish that the Sacrament be administered under both species, but that with the arrival of Fr. O’Leary, things may change. He also said that reception under both species would also depend upon enough personnel to administer the Sacrament. He said that reception under both species is a personal choice and that he understands that some people may relish the idea while others may not. Bob Dooley said that there is a local parish who allows “tincture” but that it is really not an option. Fr. Anthony said that in India, tincture is a common liturgical practice. Fr. Ed said that there may be new mandates with the upcoming year being the “Year of the Eucharist.” Mention was also made of the Wednesday adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and if more days can be set aside for adoration and perhaps for a longer period of time. Fr. Ed said that, often times the pews are empty, offering opportunity for theft or desecration, and he would not want to see this happen.
A closing prayer was led by Mary Joan Piechocki, with an added Our Father for the intentions of our new Pastor, Fr. O’Leary.
The next meeting of the Parish Council is Nov. 16 at 7:00 P.M. in St. Gabriel’s Hall.
Respectfully submitted, Marcia Sowa Secretary

Parish Council Meeting
May 18, 2004
Present: Monsignor McIntyre, Father Antony, John Sowa, Marcia Sowa, Mary Ann Alulis, George Wade, Bill Goeteski, Jim Killian, Ann DeMuth, Joe Daniszewski, Ed Dillio, Steve Atzert, Greg Arnold
Meeting began promptly at 7:00 P.M. with an opening prayer led by Mary Ann Alulis.
President, John Sowa, asked if there were any amendments to the March minutes. There being none, John asked that they be approved. Jim Killian did the honors, seconded by George Wade.
John welcomed Fr. Antony to the Our Lady of the Angels community and to our meeting.
He thanked the CCD staff on behalf of Parish Council for a job “well done” with the First Communion and Confirmation classes. He further thanked the Art and Environment Committee for their efforts in preparing the Church for the reception of these sacraments as well as Missy DiMauro and her team for the repasts, as well as the Knights for their help.
John informed Council members that most members had met in April for a work meeting and concentrated on the committees’ five year and one year plans. Further work still needs to be done on these plans. Steve Atzert said that he and Bob Dooley are continuing work on the Parish Constitution. The Constitution will be refined over the summer with presentation to the Council at the September meeting.
In old business, question was raised about the Irene Cohen Memorial. We believe a tree was planted but need to get in touch with Al Catanosa to verify this. Will get back to Council when this can be verified. Joe Daniszewski asked if the Irene Cohen Scholarship Fund checks had been cashed. John Sowa said that he had telephoned Joe Cohen to find out and, to date, had not received an answer.
Evangelization and Education: John informed Council members that on May 25 and 26 interviews will be conducted for a Director of Religious Education. John said that there were approximately ten resumes and the search committee would be interviewing six candidates. He said that the pool looks experienced and promising.
Liturgy and Sacramental Life: John, once again, thanked the CCD staff for the beautiful and successful celebrations of the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion as well as the entire CCD program, nursery through adult. The Children’s Mass will conclude on Wednesday at the Vigil of the Ascension at 7:00 P.M. and the Children’s Liturgy of the Word will conclude at the 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, May 23, 2004. John re-iterated the importance of fulfillment of Sunday ministry responsibilities, especially in the area of finding substitutes. Several new Eucharistic Ministers will be commissioned sometime in June after certificates from the diocese have arrived. As far as the ushers, Mike Vistenzo has been ill and John will talk with Joe Liptock about the ushers and their responsibilities. Msgr. McIntyre mentioned that perhaps when the new Eucharistic Ministers are commissioned there could be recognition of two altar servers who will be “retiring” as they go off to college and the police academy. He would also like Dustin and Todd to be presented with a small token from Our Lady of the Angels, perhaps a gift certificate. Monsignor said that the second Sunday in June which is the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, might be a good time for the commissioning ceremony. Greg Arnold said that he has no new recruits for altar servers. John Sowa asked if we should get in touch with Julie Roche and see if Bishop McHugh might have some new servers. There will be a 40 Hours Devotion at OLA on Aug. 15, the feast of the Assumption. Monsignor informed Council members that OLA would have the assistance of a Deacon for the summer, George Ferland.
Community Building: Missy DiMauro was not present due to the retirement party for Sr. Rosalie. Monsignor said that the license for he 50/50 is in and sales would begin on Memorial weekend. Tickets will be offered at $25.00 each and it is hoped that 1,000 will be sold. It is the intention to have ticket stations and sellers on duty before and after all Masses. See attached report. The French Boy’s Choir will be in town the weekend of July 4th and will be performing at OLA. There is a need for host families. Marie Macatee is organizing host families.
Public Relations: Ann DeMuth said that she will publicize the 50/50 in the papers as well as other churches. She will see that the French Boys’ Choir is also publicized closer to the date, as well as the Antique Appraisal event, the Peach Festival and the Picnic, which is scheduled for September.
Social Action: Monsignor spoke about the vision of this committee. The scope should include discussions pertinent to the community, the diocese, the nation, and even world issues, along with adult formation. He said that there could even be a “hook up” with Pro-Life and that the two might criss-cross. The goal of the committee is to provide a venue for people to come together along with theologians to stimulate discussions revolving around Catholic beliefs. Core issues would be non-negotiable and Monsignor said that the new DRE might be able to get this effort off its feet and going. Right now there are no adult formation classes at the parish level and the youth effort and its programs have not been able to get off the ground. Monsignor said that perhaps over the summer we could get the names of young men and women leaving the area high schools for college and send them a note from time to time in order to keep them attached.
Finance: Monsignor said that the committee spent an entire day as they developed the budget for the coming year. Monsignor said that he found the experience of watching these businessmen fascinating. The Finance Committee worked with a $500,000 budget. John Oelkers will chair this year’s House of Charity drive which will kick off on Trinity Sunday with a video. Monsignor is impressed with John’s enthusiasm. Monsignor is soliciting help with computer work for the input of pledges. Ann DeMuth offered to help. The goal of the parish for this year is $44,000. Monsignor said that in recent history the parish hasn’t been able to reach its goal. He hopes that changes.
Stewardship: Joe Daniszewski said that he was impressed with the depth of the comments on the comment sheets from the Mission. He voiced his concern about where the Stewardship effort meshes with the rest of the committees. He wanted to know if the Stewardship Committee’s responsibility was more organizational than functional. Steve Atzert commented that he sees the Stewardship effort more as a recruiting service. Monsignor said that the high point of Stewardship is the Ministry Fair and stressed the importance of follow-up calls. Monsignor said that the parish could look into a Parish Renewal Program. Joe said he would look into this. Joe said that he sees the vision and mission of Stewardship to be the education of the parish as to parish ministries.
Pastoral Care and Service: no report
Marriage Ministry: no report
Pro-Life: new trailer outside with its message “Choose Life.”
Administration: Jim Killian said that the benches in the Glade need refurbishing. The windows in St. Gabriel’s Hall need painting and volunteers are being sought. The oil tank needs digging up and, hopefully, there will be no leaks. More lighting will be installed in the parking lot by the Electric Company. The wood facades around the church need to be repainted which will involve scraping and sealing all the wood—a major task. Tiles on the rectory roof have blown off and a new roof is being looked into. Jim also mentioned the fans in the church not being on a remote. New ones would cost about $200 each, would be reversible and come equipped with lighting. A lift would have to be rented for $125. One of the speakers on the church roof is out (perhaps a loose wire) and a cherry picker might need to be rented to repair. The parking lot will be recoated along with being re-striped. A snow removal proposal is in for $300. for each removal of snow.
Knights of Columbus: George Wade said that the Golf Outing did very well. Several Knights have repainted the rectory. The Knights would host their monthly breakfast in May, with Mom eating Free. Happy Mother’s Day. The Knights will participate in the May 31st Memorial Day Parade. See attached report for additional items.
In New Business, Monsignor mentioned the Marian Celebration on May 24 in the Glade with the recitation of the Rosary, followed by procession into the Church for the Litany to Mary, a Scripture reading, homily and presentation to Mary of garden flowers. Ed Dillio said that the Glade will be defogged the day before. Steve Atzert asked for authorization to place flyers in the Church for family and couple retreats offered by the Men of Malvern. Monsignor said that Steve could place a flyer in the bulletin.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on June 15, 2004, which will be the last meeting before the summer break. There being no further business to discuss, John Sowa asked that the meeting adjourn. Fr. Antony closed the meeting with a prayer.
Thank you, Fr. Antony, for your arrival and the gift of your ministry here at Our Lady of the Angels. We welcome you in Jesus’ name.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, June 15, 2004 – 7:00 p.m. –St. Gabriel’s Hall
Respectfully submitted, Marcia Sowa Secretary Parish Council

Parish Council Meeting
Tuesday, April 20, 2004 Minutes
The meeting opened with a prayer asking the Holy Spirit to guide the work of each of the committees this evening.
This evening’s meeting was basically to develop a Five Year Plan and One Year Objective for each of the committees that fall under the umbrella of our organizational structure. It was hoped that attending members could at least come up with a global statement of our five-year vision for each of the collective ministries. If more time was needed for an individual group to come up with both one-year objectives and financial resources, representatives could to meet with their members. The goal was to have the reports by May 21st.
In regular business, President John Sowa took this one last opportunity to thank Father Walter for the generous gift of his spirit and his love to the members of our Parish and to wish him God’s speed and providential care as he returns to home in India.
This summer Our Lady of the Angels Parish will be hosting the French Boys’ Choir the weekend of July . Host families are needed to house the boys during their stay. If any family can be a home for these young children during their brief time with us, please contact Marie Macatee.
The Middle Township Committee was cordially invited the Parish Council (or any of its organization) to participate with the American Legion Thurston Elmer Post # 198 in their annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. This year they will salute the dedicated men and women and the families of the 253rd Transportation Unit of the New Jersey National Guard. If interested, please call John Sowa at 465-0339 to set up arrangements.
The Search Committee for a new Director/Coordinator of Religious Education for our Parish has received several interested applicants. The Committee is presently screening these resumes for the purpose of arranging interviews. The hope is to have a new person on board by July 1, 2004.
A similar situation exists with regard to the search for a replacement for Sr. Rosalie Pronsati, who will be leaving as Principal of Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School. 8. At approximately 8:30 p.m. the meeting ended with a prayer of thanksgiving. Respectfully submitted, John Sowa President
